Visit the Highlights of Melaka with a Private Guide!
With a history of more than 600 years, Melaka today is a melting pot of cultural diversity reflected in its people, food and architecture. Join me as we explore the old town, tracing its humble beginnings as a fishing village to international prominence as a trading port and subsequent colonisation by European powers to World War 2 and now, the present.
ITINERARY
Places that we will visit:
Red Square and the surrounding buildings - Christ Church, Queen Victoria Fountain and the Clock tower.
A short walk up St Paul's Hill and then down to the ruins of A Famosa.
Dataran Pahlawan - The site where our first Prime Minister proclaimed Independence from the British.
Jonker and Harmony Street - admire the architecture of residential areas as well as places of worship (some of the oldest in the country) with a mosque, Hindu temple and Taoist temple on a single street.
Baba Nyonya Museum for a cultural experience of the Straits Chinese.
This will not be a hurried tour and we will take our time to enjoy the sights and sounds.
If you wish to stop and have a snack or a drink, so be it.
And I'm happy to extend a little more time without charge if it is necessary.
